I enjoy helping people. I know it sounds cliche, but its true. If just one policy helps one person keep the bills paid, the lights on, and allow them to get the medical help they need (without draining their savings), then all the hard work is worth it. Believe me, watching someone battle cancer is hard enough. The possibility of having to drain hard earned savings just to keep up with cancer treatment, or any other medical need, is something I don't think anyone should go through.
About me
I was born and raised in Marshall, a small town in SW Minnesota. I grew up just outside of town with my parents and four siblings (one older, three younger). My dad worked at Schwan's while my mom stayed home and homeschooled my siblings and I. Each of us decided how far in high school we wanted to be homeschooled, and I was the only one who "stuck it out" and graduated from the Meyer Family Homeschool as I wanted to be full-time at the local university during my senior year, instead of at the high school. I love learning new things and advancing my knowledge base, so I was drawn more to college classes than the social/sports atmosphere of the high school.
After graduation, I continued to pursue my education at SMSU graduating Summa Cum Laude three years later with a degree in Psychology. I am fascinated by the mind, interpersonal connections/relationships, and cognitive, mental, emotional, and personal maximization. During my final year, I met Maxx Louwagie and we hit it off immediately. We got married two years later and will celebrate our 5th anniversary this coming July (2024). We have 2 beautiful daughters; Maya (3yrs) and Madison (2yrs), and a 5 year old Dalmatian, Ricky, who keep us very busy!
Growing up, I was always good with numbers and money and did the best I could transitioning financially into adulthood. When the opportunity arose a few years ago to pair insurance, finances, and entrepreneurship, I jumped in and immersed myself in the industry. I now hold 2 insurance licenses (Health and Life), 2 securities licenses (Series 6 and 63), and an NMLS (Mortgage) license. Recently, I scaled back to hone in on the voluntary health insurance business with Aflac. I operate a young, but growing, business that focuses on administering voluntary benefit packages to small businesses. I work within the 3-150 employees range, but I prefer the 15-100 area.
As a mom of littles, I don't have that much spare time to do fun, independent things, haha! But when I do, I enjoy girls nights, napping, reading, traveling, photography, painting, baking, playing piano, and dates with my husband. My favorite place I have traveled to is Norway, with Banff National Park a close second, and my favorite author is Michael J Sullivan.
