About me
Partner with the finance advisory firm „Andersons & Spalva” in Riga, Latvia. The firm’s practice covers financial consulting, tax consulting, managerial and financial accounting and legal services.
Master of Business Administration. SME Finance Director and finance, legal and management professional, with extensive background in financial planning. Hands-on entrepreneurial experience and track record of creating trusted relationships with stakeholders and counter-parties at all levels.
Specialties: Expertise includes asset protection, business turnaround advice, domestic and international tax planning, and structuring complex business transactions.
"There is no more creative process than accounting" already in the distant 90s, while still studying at university, two young Latvians understood and decided to devote their lives to finance.
Gatis Andersons and Aivars Spalva acquired their academic knowledge in the field of economics and finance at the best universities in Latvia. Gatis received a bachelor's degree in business management from the Riga International School of Economics and Business Administration (RSEBAA), while Aivars received a bachelor's degree from the University of Latvia. Gatis continued his higher-level master's studies at the School of Information Systems Management (ISMA), where he obtained the prestigious business management degree (MBA). On the other hand, Aivars became a master of business management after graduating from Riga Business School.
Already during their studies, Gatis and Aivars worked as financial directors in several leading companies in their fields and at the same time supplemented their knowledge in professional continuing education programs in the field of finance. That's how the two met by chance at a seminar in London dedicated to the analysis of world economic processes.
Later, both realized that the acquired education and professional experience no longer allowed their creative potential to be limited by serving only one employer.
Thus, in 2005, Aivars and Gatis became entrepreneurs and established the accounting and financial consulting company "Animus Finance" and became employers of 10 professional accountants.
Since 2009, the company has adopted the names of the two founders and owners and is now known as the financial consulting and accounting company "Andersons and Spalva".
