  • What is your "why"? Why do you do what you do?
I want to help people experience the sense of freedom that accompanies healing on an emotional level and choosing how to respond to the stimuli of the world around them rather than either being reactionary or finding ways to numb themselves.
  • Qualifying Questions: What are three questions we can ask clients to help pave the way for a referral? List them here.
    1. Do you have the proper emotional support as you face this challenge/upcoming surgery?
    2. What are you doing to ensure the best possible emotional and psychological outcome, in addition to the best possibly physical outcome, after surgery?
    3. Would you be interested in a free, no obligation consultation with a mastectomy/hysterectomy support expert?
  • About me
In a previous professional life, I was Director of Finance and Operations in corporate and not-for-profit organizations, but I needed to make more of a difference on an individual level, so I left that career after 20 years to follow my soul's path.

I'm a trauma conscious master coach, which means that I've invested tens of thousands of dollars and several years in trauma-specific training. As someone with a background in experiential trauma, and a diagnosis of PTSD as the result of childhood trauma, this was of particular importance to me; the very last thing I want to do is re-traumatize my clients while working with them as the result of being uninformed.

Having focused for several years on working with clients to help them find their voice, stand in their authenticity, and create a life that is large enough for them to live it, my own prophylactic mastectomy journey highlighted for me the gap in the patient care delivery model associated with mastectomies (and hysterectomies) and the lack of emotional support that is provided to women as they navigate this process. There are fears, emotions, questions of identity, and more than come up when a woman is facing this surgery - an amputation, although we don't call it such - whether she comes to this decision through the pathway of cancer or as a means of attempting to prevent a cancer diagnosis. Most women are left to navigate those heavy emotions on their own.

I was one of those women, and lucky to have the background that I have. I did a lot of emotional work prior to my mastectomy, and had a really terrific physical and emotional outcome. When I looked in the mirror for the first time after my surgery, I thought, "Of course this is what my body looks like now!" My wish is that every women who has a mastectomy would look in the mirror afterwards and have that same thought, but the reality, according to the nurses in my plastic surgeon's office, is that most women report crying when they see themselves for the first time. The lack of proper emotional support makes it far more difficult for them to experience an ideal physical and emotional outcome after surgery.

I'm here to fill that gap.

While I am a very spiritual person, and some of the work that I do follows that path, it's important to note that I meet my clients where they are. Our work together is based on their model of the world rather than my own.
